TTPS Seizes Firearms, Ammo & Makes 23 Arrests In 84 State Of Emergency Operations
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) reports that 84 operations were carried out across 12 divisions, resulting in 23 arrests, the seizure of two firearms, and 86 rounds of ammunition.
In a media release issued this afternoon, the TTPS noted that the operations included 507 searches, 45 traffic exercises, and the targeting of 36 high-priority offenders. Officers also confiscated camouflage clothing and a ski mask during the exercises, which focused on crime-prone areas and major roadways.
The Southern Division recorded the highest enforcement activity with 24 arrests and 151 traffic interventions. The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) also played a significant role, particularly in the recovery of illegal firearms.
