August 6, 2025 – The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service Police Academy is introducing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Policing, a new academic programme aimed at enhancing professional development and law enforcement education. This initiative marks a significant step forward for the academy, being the first of its kind to be registered with the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago.
The TTPS says the new degree programme is a key component of the TTPS Strategic Plan 2025-2027, specifically addressing the goal of enhancing professional development and increasing employee satisfaction with training opportunities. On July 22nd, 2025, a stakeholder session was held to outline the vision, curriculum, and implementation plan for the programme. The Bachelor’s in Policing is expected to serve as a regional model for advancing policing professionalism and contributing to stronger, more informed communities across Trinidad and Tobago.
