Commuters and visitors in Tobago are advised of a significant traffic disruption beginning Monday, July 28th, as the crucial intersection of Stumpy Bypass Road and Store Bay Local Road will be fully shut down for a period of three weeks.
The Division of Infrastructure, Quarries and and Urban Development (DIQUD) announced the closure to facilitate urgent repairs to a culvert and the necessary relocation of a WASA utility line. This intersection serves as a key thoroughfare for both locals and tourists heading to popular destinations such as Store Bay and Pigeon Point.
With Tobago’s roads frequently experiencing high traffic volumes, especially during peak seasons, commuters should anticipate potential delays and plan their journeys accordingly.
Drivers and pedestrians are strongly advised to seek alternative routes, obey all posted traffic signs, and exercise extreme caution while navigating the area due to the presence of heavy equipment. The DIQUD extends its apologies for any inconvenience caused as they work to enhance the island’s vital infrastructure.
