Scarborough, Tobago – February 26, 2024 – As of February 26, 2024, Scarborough Secondary and Lambeau Anglican Primary schools remained closed in Tobago due to ongoing oil spill cleanup efforts. Despite normal air quality checks, an unpleasant odor persisted in the affected areas.
The Education Division emphasized its commitment to prioritizing the well-being of both students and staff. These schools had been closed since February 14, 2024, following the initial oil spill incident. Principals were encouraged to continue engaging students to prevent learning loss during this period.
