School Closures Due to Hurricane Beryl

The Division of Education, Research & Technology (DERTech) hereby informs the public that all schools will be closed from July 1st, 2024 due to the passing of Hurricane Beryl, to ensure the safety and well-being of students, staff, and the wider community.

Details of School Closures:
  • All primary and secondary public and private schools will be closed from Monday 1st July, 2024until further notice.
  • Scheduled school activities, including extracurricular events, graduation ceremonies andexaminations, are also postponed until further notice.
  • Parents and guardians are advised to make necessary arrangements for the supervision of theirchildren during this period.
Guidelines for Students and Parents:
  • Stay tuned to official announcements for updates on school reopening and rescheduled activities.
  • Ensure that emergency plans are in place and that all family members are aware of safety protocols.

DERTech, in collaboration with the Tobago Emergency Management Agency (TEMA), will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide timely updates through official channels. Our primary concern is the safety of our students, staff, and their families.
