Reducing Plastic Pollution: Trinidad and Tobago Ranked High in Mismanaged Waste

April 16, 2024 – The country of Trinidad and Tobago has received a concerning ranking, placing number six in the Caribbean for plastic pollution. This finding comes from a report by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) focusing on sustainable plastic waste management.
Adding to the concern, the report also lists Trinidad and Tobago as fifth in the world per capita for “production of mismanaged waste.” These statistics highlight the urgent need for comprehensive strategies to address plastic pollution and improve waste management in Trinidad and Tobago, impacting both environmental health and sustainability efforts.
