Rebel Road
Rebel Road aims to replicate the Carnival Monday experience in Tobago. The goal is for Tobago’s youth who typically participate in masquerade celebrations in Trinidad, as mentioned by DXL owner Quincy Trim.
The event is included in the calendar of activities leading up to Tobago Carnival but is not considered part of the official Tobago Carnival. Trim explained that this distinction was made to avoid conflicts among event promoters organising activities during the Tobago Carnival season. The Rebel Road hosts aim to promote Carnival festivities throughout the entire month of October, not just during the weekend.
One of the features of Rebel Road is a stage where patrons are showered with confetti as they cross the street, in addition to food, drinks, and hydration stations. The celebrations will culminate at the Canoe Bay Resort, providing guests with a final jamming experience. The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 7, 2023, and the Rebel Road hosts hope to enhance the Tobago Carnival experience.
