Rainwater harvesting system donated

Assemblyman Ian Pollard presents a rainwater harvesting system to homeowners, promoting water conservation and sustainable water management practices.

A homeowner is the beneficiary of a rainwater harvesting system. Assemblyman Ian Pollard, Secretary in the Division of Settlements, Public Utilities, and Rural Development, along with Assistant Secretary Councillor Orlando Kerr, Assemblyman Wayne Clarke, and representatives from Habitat for Humanity Trinidad and Tobago, presented a Rainwater Harvesting System to homeowner Ms. Diane Procope, earlier this week. Rainwater harvesting captures, diverts, and stores rainwater from rooftops for later use. This system offers numerous benefits, including water conservation, flood and erosion reduction, and groundwater recharge. It can also help mitigate droughts, reduce costs, and provide water for tasks such as watering lawns, flushing toilets, washing clothes, and filling ornamental ponds. Additionally, rainwater harvesting contributes to environmental sustainability by reducing reliance on traditional water sources and supporting sustainable water management practices.
