The initiative, Bestowing a Legacy of Black Culture Kindled Against Domestic Violence (Project B.L.A.C.K.), is a collaboration involving The Roxborough Police Youth Club and The United Nations Development Programme (U.N.D.P.), as stated by Tobago Assistant Commissioner of Police Collis Hazel. This partnership primarily focuses on empowering women and young girls to resist domestic abuse.

Project B.L.A.C.K., as mentioned by ACP Hazel, aims to utilize Tobago culture to raise awareness about domestic abuse. Hazel noted that training sessions were designed to educate individuals, empowering them to resist such situations. “We felt that In order to educate and inform one of the areas we need to reach out to as stakeholder was our youth organization and our cultural organization, and hence the reason we took the opportunity to ensure that we reach out to all these 12 groups throughout Tobago east to educate them about this disease

UNDP representative Ishelly Robinson Cooper indicated that Tobago had a short window of opportunity to attempt the first implementation of the initiative before it was too late. A variety of spoken word pieces, dances, songs, and other performances against domestic violence targeting women and young girls continued throughout the day.
