Prime Minister Stuart Young Has Announced That The Families Of Paria Divers And The Lobe Survivor Will Receive 1 Million Dollars Ex-gratia Payments
Speaking at a Post Cabinet press briefing earlier today, Prime Minister Staurt Young confirmed that ex-gratia payments would be made to the families of of Kazim Ali Jr., Yusuf Henry, Rishi Nagassar, and Fyzal Kurban, who tragically perished after being sucked into a 36-inch pipeline while conducting underwater maintenance work. Survivor Christopher Boodram, who managed to escape, will also receive compensation. Young stated that the Cabinet had formally approved this decision after he kept them updated on the situation. He also noted that the insurers for the respective companies involved—Paria Fuel Trading Company and Land and Marine Contracting Services—would have to determine liability for the tragedy. However, he emphasised that no amount of money could ever truly compensate for the loss and suffering endured by the victims’ families.
