Panograma Recognised Internationally

Nevin Roach, the CEO and Founder of Panograma from Lowlands, Tobago, is set to be honored with the 2024 Caribbean Artistic Development award at the upcoming Young, Gifted, and Black (YGB) Entrepreneurial Awards in the United States. This recognition applauds Roach’s groundbreaking work with PanoGrama. Expressing humility about the upcoming accolade, Roach shared, “I wasn’t looking forward to an award. Everything I do for Panograma is out of the love for the instrument and just to make a positive contribution and help with the development of young pannist coming up through the artform.”

He explained that the idea struck him to create a competition, providing a platform for talented musicians during the lockdowns, as there was not any other avenue at that time. The competition gained significant traction, attracting attention from media across the Caribbean. “I was blown away with how well received this soloist competition was. It got picked up by the media, across the Caribbean and in 2021 we grew, improved on the overall production. And i want to thank Leeandro Noray, he was very instrumental in those improvements.”

By 2022, PanoGrama had expanded its reach further, airing on television for the first time and securing international deals through negotiations. It is now on its way to becoming a thriving global phenomenon.
