During his press briefing on Monday evening, Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley revealed his plans for retirement and announced that Minister of Energy, Stuart Young, will succeed him as Prime Minister. Young is set to run for the position in the upcoming 2025 General Elections. However, the Opposition Leader and Political Leader of the United National Congress quickly criticised the move, calling it undemocratic. She also questioned whether Young was the right choice for the role.
