OPPOSITION AND THA MINORITY SLAMS ‘RECKLESS’ BUDGET AMID GLOBAL OIL SURPLUS FEARS
October 15, 2025- The United National Congress (UNC) 2026 Budget is under fire from the Opposition and the Tobago House of Assembly Minority, who are describing the fiscal plan as “reckless” and overly dependent on uncertain revenue projections. Critics warn that with a growing global oil surplus and falling energy prices, the Government’s assumptions could put the national economy at serious risk.
