Not yet inviting election observers

Prime minister Dr. Keith Rowley says it is too early to determine if election observers should be invited.

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley accused the Opposition of being overly eager for the election bell to be rung while responding to a question about inviting election observers. Trinidad and Tobago is expected to hold general elections in 2025. The Opposition has criticised the government’s reluctance to invite regional and international observers during the 2020 elections. However, Dr Rowley did not confirm whether he would adopt the same stance for the upcoming elections.
