NIDCO Claims Non-Response as Consent for ANR Robinson Airport Terminal Construction

Scarborough, Tobago – April 18, 2024 – Project Managers at the National Infrastructure Development Company Limited (NIDCO) claim they have received all the necessary documentation and permissions for Town & Country Approval to proceed with constructing the new airport terminal for the ANR Robinson International Airport in Tobago.

However, NIDCO noted a specific approach to compliance: after not receiving feedback from certain local government agencies, including the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), they interpret this silence as full consent. NIDCO asserts that, based on this interpretation, they meet all the requirements outlined in the law for the ongoing airport construction in Tobago. This stance on “non-response consent” highlights a notable aspect of the approval process for major infrastructure projects in Trinidad and Tobago.
