Minority Leader Kelvon Morris Calls for Urgent PAC Hearing on THA Auditor General’s Report
July 22, 2025 – Minority Leader Kelvon Morris is calling for an urgent Public Accounts Committee (PAC) hearing following revelations in the 2024 Auditor General’s Report. The report specifically flagged $17 million in unaccounted cheques within the Tobago House of Assembly (THA).
Morris, who also chairs the PAC, stated that the report underscores a growing crisis of accountability and a troubling lack of financial oversight in the THA. He stressed the pressing need for transparency, urging formal investigations to restore public trust in the Assembly’s financial management.
With THA elections looming, Morris is encouraging citizens to scrutinize the THA’s handling of public funds and has pledged to keep the public informed through fair and open hearings. This demand for accountability highlights significant concerns over the management of public funds in Tobago.
