Man held in car wash robbery
One man arrested in connection with Coop’s car wash robbery
Coop’s Car Wash located at the Lowlands Mall was robbed on around 1:05 PM on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. A 26-year-old cashier was at her workstation when two men approached her. One suspect, described as being of African descent with a dark complexion and armed with a gun, demanded cash. The second suspect, of mixed descent with a light brown complexion, wore a blue fisherman’s hat. Fearing for her life, the cashier complied, handing over an undisclosed sum of money. The suspects then fled the scene on foot, disappearing into nearby bushes. A swift police response led to the arrest of one suspect, who is currently assisting investigators. A motor vehicle believed to have been used in the robbery has also been recovered. Law enforcement officers remain confident that the second suspect will be apprehended soon as investigations continue.
