International intervention for autonomy

International support for Tobago’s autonomy is possible, according to Chief Secretary.

Scarborough, Tobago – Tobago’s pursuit of greater autonomy took center stage during the Chief Secretary’s message at last night’s Tobago Day Award ceremony. Chief Secretary Farley Augustine highlighted the importance of the Tobago Autonomy Bills, which are currently before Parliament.

Speaking to a gathering that included foreign diplomats, Augustine emphasized the island’s right to self-determination and its commitment to securing greater administrative powers through the Tobago House of Assembly. He stated he would go to great lengths to ensure Tobago gets its autonomy, a clear signal that the island is prepared to seek international support if necessary.
