Scarborough, TobagoKobina Ackon, the renowned freelance YouTuber and vlogger from Ghana, famously known as Wodemaya, recently brought his global cultural exchange journey to Tobago. Holding an aeronautical engineering degree from China’s Shenyang Aerospace University, Wodemaya travels the world to document and share diverse cultural experiences. Upon his arrival in Tobago, he expressed being profoundly overwhelmed by the island’s exceptional hospitality.

Wodemaya’s overarching mission, through his “Africa to the World” project, is to focus on one nation at a time, aiming to transform often unfavorable perceptions of Africa. He seeks to encourage global audiences to visit, vacation, and invest in Africa, positioning it as a highly desirable destination.

During his visit to Tobago, Wodemaya articulated his specific goal: “I just want to connect Africans in Tobago with Africans in Africa, just the history of how Africans got here, just Africa in general, the way of life, just to dive into the food they eating here and just compare the foods we eat in Africa, just to compare, just to see the connection that we have.” This highlights his dedication to exploring the shared heritage and cultural ties within the African diaspora.

His “Africa to the World” project serves as a crucial platform for connecting individuals interested in Africa and the African diaspora, providing authentic insights into the continent often overlooked by mainstream media.
