Future Builders: Zorisha Hackett Hosts Practical Skills Camp for Youth
August 14, 2025 – Young residents of Bethesda and Les Coteaux are set to benefit from a week-long Junior Skills Training Camp, spearheaded by Electoral District Representative, Assemblyman Zorisha Hackett.
Now in its second year and returning by popular demand, the initiative will run for five days this month, providing children and teens aged 8 to 16 with hands-on training in a variety of practical trades. Participants will explore areas such as carpentry, masonry, cosmetology, and digital technology, among others.
The camp is designed to empower youth through skills development and career exposure, promoting self-reliance while laying the foundation for a more skilled and capable future workforce.
Assemblyman Hackett described the programme as a long-term investment in the community’s human capital and a proactive step toward engaging young people in meaningful and constructive activities during their school break.
