Energy transition should be a partnership

Solar equipment entrepreneurs call on the government to partner with them towards energy transition into renewables.

Trinidad and Tobago is over 99% reliant on fossil fuels to power the nation. While the government has transitioned most power plants to use compressed natural gas (CNG), which is cleaner than traditional fuels, it remains a fossil fuel. On the ground, the adoption of solar energy as an alternative has been slow, and regulations for its use have yet to be established. Solar power dealers call on the government to partner with them and safely guide the nation through its energy transition.
