August 8, 2025 – The Central Statistical Office (CSO) is currently in the field conducting its Continuous Sample Survey of the Population (CSSP). This essential survey, running from August 4th to 15th, 2025, in specific areas across both Trinidad and Tobago, provides up-to-date data on the country’s labour force and other vital socio-economic indicators.
According to the Statistics Act, Chapter 19:02, all citizens are legally required to participate. Field interviewers will gather critical information on everything from employment and unemployment rates to demographic characteristics. This data is crucial for the government to formulate policies and make informed decisions about the country’s economic future. The CSO is reminding the public that all information collected is strictly confidential and that citizens can contact the office to verify the identity of field interviewers.
