Court Issues Emergency Injunction To Stop Jet Ski Operations …
The High Court has granted an emergency injunction halting all commercial and recreational jet ski operations across the Buccoo Reef Marine Park and Pigeon Point Heritage Park.
The urgent order, granted by Justice Sherlanne Pierre upon application by the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), imposes an immediate blanket prohibition against named operators as well as “persons unknown”. The court order bars the launching, retrieval, operation, and commercial solicitation of personal watercraft within the protected marine zones until further determination. The decisive legal intervention comes in the wake of the fatal April 8 collision at Pigeon Point that claimed the life of seven-year-old Angelica Jogie and follows the recent passage of the Tobago Marine Parks Bill, 2026.
