CCRIF calls for increased insurance coverage

George’s, Grenada – The Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility (CCRIF) is calling on countries in the region to significantly increase their insurance coverage, as they experience more frequent and intense storms. This urgent appeal comes as CCRIF prepares to release over forty-four million US dollars to Grenada, which experienced devastation following the passage of Hurricane Beryl less than two weeks ago.
Speaking at a press conference, CCRIF’s CEO, Isaac Anthony, emphasized the critical need for the Caribbean to have access to relief funds immediately after a disaster. This rapid disbursement mechanism is crucial for post-disaster recovery efforts, allowing affected nations to quickly begin rebuilding and supporting their populations.
