A.P.T. JAMES RETURNS TO SERVICE

The vessel will return service today- Wednesday 07th
February 2024, departing from Trinidad at 4:00 p.m.

Scarborough, Tobago – February 7th, 2024 – The Management of the Trinidad and Tobago Inter-Island Transportation Company Limited (TTIT) advised the travelling public that the statutory dry-docking of the A.P.T. James fast ferry had been completed. The vessel successfully returned to service on Wednesday, February 7th, 2024, with its first departure from Trinidad at 4:00 p.m.

Simultaneously, the Buccoo Reef ferry was withdrawn from service for its own statutory dry-docking exercises and works, commencing on the same day, Wednesday, February 7th, 2024. The Buccoo Reef was expected to return to service on Thursday, February 22nd, 2024. TTIT emphasized that these essential works are necessary to ensure a safe and reliable service for passengers and cargo, as well as to maintain crucial Class certifications.

During this period, the vital inter-island sea bridge continued to be serviced by three vessels: the A.P.T. James, the Galleons Passage, and the M.V. Cabo Star, with additional sailings scheduled to accommodate the peak Carnival Season traffic.

The Board and Management of the Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago thanked the public for their understanding and reassured them of their commitment to maintaining safety standards across the fleet. They also apologized for any inconvenience caused by the changes to the normal sailing schedule.
