Scarborough, Tobago – January 6, 2025 – Today marks the beginning of the second school term for many students across Trinidad and Tobago. However, for 15-year-old Beris Joseph, a Form 4A5 student of Signal Hill Secondary School, this was a missed opportunity as he was tragically shot and killed over the weekend.
On Friday night, residents in the Mt. Hay area, between Patience Hill and Black Rock, reported hearing gunshots. Later, they discovered the lifeless body of Beris, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Authorities have since shared that he was wanted in connection with gun-related incidents. The Signal Hill Secondary School Facebook page has issued condolences, stating, “We regret to announce the passing of our very own. Beris Joseph of form 4A5. May his family be granted courage, strength, and peace, during this very difficult time. Rest in eternal peace.”
