Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago – Access to foreign exchange is not just a problem for the business community or citizens wishing to travel; it has also become a significant challenge for the Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standards (TTBS).
During a recent appearance before Parliament’s Joint Select Committee, the TTBS reported being unable to fulfill certain government-sanctioned mandates. This is because these mandates sometimes require internationally sourced goods and services that necessitate foreign exchange. The issue highlights how the nation’s currency challenges can impact the operations of key state institutions.
