Trinidad & Tobago attends 4th China-Caribbean forum; marks 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties; bilateral talks held.
Trinidad and Tobago is actively pursuing international trade and investment opportunities, recently participating in the 4th China-Caribbean Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum in China. The Embassy of Trinidad and Tobago in China reported that President of the Senate Nigel de Freitas, InvesTT President Sekou Alleyne, Ambassador Analisa Low, and Adrian Thomas, Head of the Chancery in Beijing, attended the forum from September 12th-13th, 2024. Senator de Freitas highlighted the deepening bilateral relationship, noting that Trinidad and Tobago last hosted the forum in Port of Spain in 2011. This year’s participation also marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Trinidad and Tobago and China. A Dialogue Meeting with Chinese enterprises was held in Boao, where discussions included bilateral talks with Wang Shouwen and Hua Chunying from China’s Ministry of Commerce and Foreign Affairs.
