Scarborough, Tobago – Nickocy Phillips, Political Leader of the Unity of the People, has expressed support for the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) Tobago Division’s zero-tolerance approach to crime. Phillips’s stance follows comments made by Deputy Commissioner of Police Junior Benjamin on Tuesday’s Tobago Updates Morning Show.
However, Phillips also urged the TTPS Tobago Division and officers from the Inter-Agency Task Force (ITF) to ensure they respect citizens and their property while conducting their crime-fighting operations. This call emphasizes the importance of balancing aggressive policing with adherence to human rights and community trust.
