PNM Tobago’s Response to Injunction Lift
PNM Tobago Council supports the rule of law on the Friendship Connector Road construction
PNM Tobago Council supports the rule of law on the Friendship Connector Road construction
In light of the High Court’s decision to lift the injunction on halting the Shirvan Bypass/Connector Road construction, the PNM Tobago Council, via a media release issued today, acknowledged the court’s decision.
The party made it clear that they support the road construction as part of the wider development project of the ANR Robinson International Airport but are adamant that the rule of law and due processes must always be followed. The party noted that the green light given yesterday, to continue with the project is no victory for the THA, and they should abide by the decisions made by the court until the substantive matter is resolved.
The injunction was initially granted after Derek Hearn, a resident of Friendship Estate, claimed the construction damaged his property and lacked necessary approvals.
