CEC for Friendship Connector Road

During the recent plenary session last Thursday, Minority Leader Kelvon Morris raised queries to Secretary Trevor James regarding the Certificate of Clearance for the Friendship Connector Road under the Division of Infrastructure, Quarries, and Urban Development. Secretary James disclosed that following the suspension of work on the Friendship Connector Road last year, the Division submitted an application for a CEC on June 6, 2023. Subsequently, the Environmental Management Authority (EMA) conducted an inspection at the site on June 26, 2023. James further mentioned that on December 12, 2023, all involved parties mutually agreed to terminate the proceedings. The road construction stands at 75% completion, with the project scheduled for finalization in March.
