DPP Charges Samaroo’s Paralyzed Widow In His Murder…

In a dramatic twist that has ignited widespread shock and public outrage across Trinidad and Tobago, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has instructed that criminal warrants be issued—not against the police officers involved in the deadly January 20th shooting—but against Joshua Samaroo’s surviving common-law wife, Kaia Sealy.

The directive from DPP Roger Gaspard SC was confirmed following an announcement by Commissioner of Police Allister Guevarro. Sealy, 24, who was shot multiple times and left paralyzed from the waist down during the incident in St. Augustine, faces arrest warrants for manslaughter in the unlawful killing of Samaroo, alongside three counts of shooting with intent against police officers.
